Rohs Opera House: Part 3

With times being so uncertain right now with the Coronavirus, the team decided to go with some familiar “hunting grounds”. So, we once again packed our bags to head down to the Rohs Opera House for Part 3.

We decided to take as small a group as possible, just to keep the germs to a minimum! (We don’t want anyone getting ill). So for this trip it was Mark, Mandy, and Kayla. Just because we know this place fairly well, doesn’t mean that there isn’t more to uncover. With some new equipment to try, we started the set up.

Currently, the Opera House is under some much needed renovations to help restore the building to its former glory. These renovations are happening mainly in the Auditorium and the Balcony, with other minor touch ups here and there. This excited us for a couple of reasons; the Opera House has such rich history that we cant wait to see restored, and typically renovations mean increased paranormal activity. With this in mind, we really wanted to try investigating in some new areas, along with the old standbys.

We placed our cameras in the Auditorium, Balcony, Aeolian Room, the Segregated Room, and the Basement. With the setup complete, we headed up to the Aeolian Room to try out our new equipment. The new technology is actually an App called EchoVox. If you haven’t tried it, we definitely recommend it! The EchoVox is similar to a Spirit Box that many Investigators use already, but, instead of scanning radio signals or using a word bank, this app uses a sound bank from other languages. This means that there is no English at all through the app. The entities can use the sound banks to form words/sentences to communicate with us.

We had some success in the Aeolian Room, and managed to hear the name Robert spoken while trying to communicate. But, we weren’t getting much upstairs. We tried other rooms upstairs without much luck either. Towards the end of the night, we ended up in the Auditorium near the stage, and started up the app once again. That’s when we really started to get some good responses.

We asked if there was anyone with us, and we got the name Ed multiple times. We asked if he remembered our names, and one by one he said them! “Mark” “Mandy” “Kayla”. We then asked if he could name the items that we had put on the stage, our reply was “ball”. (We had brought a blue ball and placed it on the stage with masking tape put around it so that we could tell if it moved during the night.) We tried engaging Ed to move the ball, and were met with the reply “watch, 3...2...1..” The ball never did move, but that reply was amazing nonetheless!

The replies died down (no pun intended), and we packed up and headed back home. We are excited to review this evidence, and will definitely be using EchoVox in our future investigations
